Traineeship for the Legal Service Unit EPPO - European Public Prosecutor's Office Luxembourg The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) is seeking applications for the position of a trainee in the Legal Services Unit.
As a trainee and a member of the Legal Service Sector, you will have the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience in providing legal support on matters relating to the EPPO's institutional, governance and regulatory frameworks, while also putting into practice your knowledge of general EU and administrative law acquired during your academic studies.

Tasks and responsibilities.
Reporting directly to the Head of the Legal Service Sector, you will be responsible for Contributing to the drafting of legal advice related to the EPPO legal framework and governance structure; Providing assistance in the preparation of legal advice related to all the aspects of the operations and management of the EPPO; Providing input for the preparation of legal acts and opinions related to the functioning of the EPPO, including on matters related to human resources, administration, contract and procurement; Providing tailored responses to ad-hoc research requests received from lawyers in the Legal Service.
BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS" To be considered eligible, you must satisfy each of the following basic eligibility requirements by the application's closing date.
University Diploma Candidates must have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications.
Please consult the EPSO website regarding examples of eligible diplomas in different Member States.
For declared on going post-graduate studies an official declaration from the relevant university/institute must be provided.
Candidates whose university or post-graduate diplomas are not issued in one of the official EU languages must provide a certified translation of these documents in English.
Candidates must provide copies of diplomas or the relevant official certificates (self-certifications will not be accepted) of all university or post-university studies declared in their application.
Language For the trainees to fully profit from the traineeship and to be able to attend meetings and perform adequately, applicants must have a very good knowledge of the English language that corresponds at least to the B.
level, as official working language within the EPPO.
EPPO reserves the right to amend the language criteria as and when necessary.
Any such changes will be published on the EPPO's website before the opening of the application period.
Specific knowledge/skills Candidates may be requested to fulfil specific requirements to be eligible for the traineeship programme, e.

a completed university or post-university course in criminal law or a related field.
Any requirement shall be stated in the vacancy notice for traineeships.
You must also be a national of one of the Member States of the Unionand enjoy full rights as a citizen; produce the appropriate character references as to the suitability for the performance of your duties.
SELECTION CRITERIA" The following competencies will be assessed throughout the selection procedure.
Essential Completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education) in law and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications; A sound understanding of general EU law; An awareness of, and an interest in, the role and functioning of the EPPO; Excellent research and analysis skills; Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly for drafting and summarising texts; An intermediate (B2) knowledge of English.
Advantageous Knowledge of criminal law, economic and financial criminal law, European criminal justice (or a related field) either by studies or by professional experience; A good grasp of employment law, contractual law or analogous areas relevant to the administrative management of EU institutions or other bodies, national or international public bodies; An advanced knowledge of English (C1) and an intermediate (B1) knowledge of French.
Interpersonal skills Excellent planning and organisational skills; Ability to work independently and effectively as well as a part of a team; Mind-set to be attentive to detail; Being able to recognize and deal with personal and sensitive information with highest degree of confidentiality.
