ROVING MASTER MARINER

A.M. Nomikos operates a commercial, corporate and technical ship management service for ship owning entities. The Company employs over 1,600 personnel worldwide, on land and sea-based operations. The Head Office and central management is located in Athens with commercial activities situated in London. The company was originally involved in coastal shipping and over the past 6 decades has grown into all main types of Dry Bulk vessels, with a principal focus on the Geared segment. Most recently the company has expanded capabilities in the management of Container ships. The Roving Master Mariner is responsible for overseeing/supervising the safe navigation, operation, and management of various vessels within our fleet. This role involves traveling to different locations worldwide, providing hands-on support, training, and supervision to vessel crew. The Roving Master Mariner will also ensure compliance with International maritime regulations/COLREGs, Industry best practices and Company policies. Key Responsibilities: · Navigation and Vessel Operation: Ensure safe navigation and conduct inspections/Audits & real time Navigation audits. · Crew Management and Training: Guide, train, and evaluate crew. · Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations COLREGs Industry best practices and company policies. · Safety and Emergency Preparedness: Oversee/Supervise safety drills and SMS implementation. · Reporting and Documentation: Provide feedback to the company by preparing reports, appraisals and maintain records. · Cultural Integration and Team Building: Promote a positive, inclusive culture; foster teamwork and respect. · Minimum of 10 years in the maritime industry, with significant seagoing experience as a Master. · Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, proficiency in navigation technology, and strong problem-solving abilities. · Ability to work collaboratively with diverse crews, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity. · Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
