Physical Architecture & Interfaces management Junior

Job Description
Definition and management of system architectures for complex spacecraft. Focus on physical layout studies, with involvement of volumetric, functional, ergonomic and operational evaluations. Definition, control and management of the Physical Interfaces, both external and internal to the system, in particular for what concerns the mechanical aspects. The candidate shall operate inside a system level core team and interface with the Agencies and Customers, therefore he shall have peculiar communication skills, pro-active attitude in facing and solving problems and inclination to team working.
He has to have a sufficient cultural base in mechanical and configuration field such to be able to define and manage in a short time a system design of complex satellite/manned module.
Key duties:

Definition of the System Architecture starting from Customer high level requirements
Flow-down of functional schematics into the physical product architecture, including collection and implementation at system level of sub-system requirements
Coordination and execution of dedicated layout studies aimed to evaluate and implement all physical architectural aspects characterizing complex space systems: volumes, equipment and subsystems accommodations, ergonomics, operability, maintainability, habitability, human interfaces
Management of physical configuration evolution cooperating in finding smart solution in terms of cost and schedule as well as product excellence
Ensure the form&fit compatibility of the complete system
Coordination of CAD Operators activities and priorities
Support standardization and adequate re-use
Definition of the mechanical interfaces between the System and the external elements and within the System between different subsystems
Control and maintenance of all internal and external physical interfaces
Creation and management of the system Mechanical Interface Control Document (MICD) ensuring the compatibility of the design with the external & internal interfaces
Elaboration and management of Mass properties budgets (Mass, CoG and MoI)
Contribution to System Requirements definition and validation
Support Manufacturing, Assembly and Integration activities including NCR/RFD/FRW resolutions
Capabilities in working inside assigned team acting, if necessary, as first line in support of the Program System Engineer and Program Design Authority


Skills, experience and qualification required:


Master degree in Engineering (Aerospace field is preferred)
Fluent English (spoken and written)
Knowledge of technical drawing standards and standards documentation for geometric, dimension and tolerance
Knowledge of Catia (CAD software)
Strong motivation (passion) in working in space business
Good will in working in multinational context and projects
Attitude to problem solving, developing  mechanical solutions as best compromise with applicable requirements, schedule and cost
Attitude toward teaming and multi-disciplinary approaches
Respect of Company hierarchy, rules and discipline
Attitude to work respecting budgets and schedule constraints


Skills, experience and qualification appreciated:


Previous work experience (even limited) in the requested discipline and field (Space)



Knowledge (even limited) of machining and fabrication process
Experience (even limited) in Product validation and test
Ph.D and/or Master Seed in Space engineering
