Functional Neuroimaging Laboratory Description.
The Gozzi laboratory, at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (www.

t) is looking for an ambitious postdoctoral researcher to join its neuroscience team (www.
nimg.
it.
t), in Rovereto, Italy.
Research at the Gozzi lab is aimed at understanding how the brain works as an integrated network in health and disease.
The Gozzi lab addresses these questions by combining causal neural manipulations in rodents with functional neuroimaging methods (fMRI, fUS), multimodal recordings, and cutting-edge neuro-computational approaches.
The goal of this project will be to use optogenetics to causally probe the brain rhythms that sustain whole-brain network activity as measured with fMRI/fUS/electrophyiology.
Technical help from onsite experts in the implementation of these measures will be provided.
This research is funded by the European Research Council (ERC, #Brainamics), and it is ultimately aimed at understanding how endogenous and exogenous neuromodulation controls the functional organization and dynamics of brain network.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A PhD degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical imaging or equivalent Prior hands-on experience in in vivo experimental neuroscience methods in rodents The ability and motivation to work independently as well as collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team Good English language skill, both spoken and written, is required ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Proficiency in coding languages commonly used in image analysis, such as Python, R, or MATLAB will be highly valued High motivation and ability to work both independently and as part of a team Knowledge of brain imaging techniques and concepts in systems neuroscience is a plus The IIT center in Rovereto is located in Trentino, a region of Northern Italy nestled in the Dolomite Mountains, offering spectacular natural beauty, vibrant culture and exceptional quality of life.
