Advocate for and implement improvements in working practices. Be continually aware of emerging market trends and propose and implement new technologies and industry standard techniques which enhance Open GI’s market position and technical estate. Work as part of a collaborative, customer focussed and industry leading Development function. Collaborate with internal and external customers to provide a leading software development service. Engage with customers in Technical Requirements Workshops, daily stand-ups, bi-weekly demos and customer handovers. Act as a key Delivery team member, proactively picking up tasks to get things to done. Deliver new customer requirements as quickly, reliably, and efficiently as possible. Contribute to a continually improving Agile software development framework. Liaise with Business Analysts, Developers and QA’s, establishing and implementing requirements and/or the resolution of live operational issues. . Essential GCSE Math and English Pass level 4 and above Advantageous Educated to degree level An I.T. Qualification or Certification Microsoft Professional Qualification Experience Essential ·An understanding of programming using principles and adaptability to use proprietary in-house technologies Experience of working on production software applications and databases Proven ability to implement designed solutions in conjunction with the broader Delivery team Advantageous Experience of working in an agile environment General Insurance / financial services industry knowledge Skills Essential Demonstrable programming and problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Willingness to test code and write unit tests Advantageous Agile delivery skills – for example Scrum / Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework Proficient in Microsoft, C# and Open GI proprietary technologies Aptitudes Finds the appropriate balance between technical/architectural fit and delivery of business goals Self-motivated and driven to get things to done Methodical and disciplined in approach to all tasks Keen attention to detail Problem solving at all levels Able to learn, absorb and implement new ideas or technologies quickly Creates and drives technical innovation Applies past experience and knowledge in a new context Mission and Values Our mission is to be both the Technology Partner and Employer of choice for the UK General Insurance Market.
