The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships (PSFP) section within PFP works with National Committees and UNICEF country offices to maximize financial and non-financial support for children. Within this section, the purpose of the Corporate Partnerships Team is to drive impact, defined as financial resources in addition to other valuable assets and opportunities, in order to optimize the value of multi-dimensional partnerships with companies to achieve UNICEF's strategic goals. The team supports key UNICEF Divisions with partnership strategies as well as National Committees and Country Offices with their strategies for growth. The team also champions and drives global best practices, and partnership strategy, and issues guidance and policies globally. Team members also play a role in the relationship management of key partners. For every child, a Champion Under the general guidance of the Corporate Alliances Manager (Global Lead, New Business), this post is responsible for supporting the UNICEF network to proactively secure and develop large new global alliances with the corporate sector. These include both US$ multi-million new financial partnerships and a select group of shared-value partnerships that include financial and non-financial elements. The markets supported will likely include UNICEF's National Committees across Northern Europe. The post is responsible for working cross-functionally with other team members and departments, including UNICEF National Committees, Regional Offices, and Country Offices, including to build the skill set of developing large new alliances that mobilize resources from the corporate sector. How can you make a difference? Summary of key functions/accountabilities: 1. Supports markets and line reports to help secure new financial partnerships (including at a US $multi-million level) and a select group of high-value / high-impact partnerships that include financial and/or non-financial elements against a set annual target: Directly, or indirectly through their line reports, works with National Committees and Regional Offices to proactively identify, develop, and negotiate high value (in the 6 and 7-figure range) new global alliances with companies that generate significant resources. Identifies how prospects could have the greatest impact for UNICEF and helps markets develop concept notes, proposals, and pitches. Helps identify the business case for specific prospects to partner with UNICEF. Supports markets on senior relationship building and negotiation strategies with prospects. 2. Works closely with priority Regional Offices, National Committees and Country Offices to ensure best in class new business development strategies are in place to grow income from the corporate sector: Supports markets to help achieve and exceed their new business income targets, identifying any challenges and proactively exploring solutions. Provides strategic advice on new partnerships to ensure UNICEF raises quality, flexible resources while also meeting the needs of corporate partners. Provides one-to-one coaching and training sessions in the development of new partnerships with the corporate sector. Participates in key meetings pitching and negotiating with potential corporate partners, demonstrating best-practice. 3. Contributes to the overall New Business strategy: Leads on the development of a set of thematic (e.g., Education, WASH, etc.) or sectoral (e.g., banking, pharma, etc.) high-value propositions, liaising with relevant teams across UNICEF (Programme Group, Division of Global Advocacy and Communications, Country Offices, other Partnerships teams within PFP, PPD, etc.). Coordinates the dissemination of a set of high-value propositions that corporate partnership colleagues in PFP and in markets can then take out to businesses to drive new business income. Works with National Committees, Regional Offices or Regional Support Centers, and Country Offices to disseminate guidance on new partnership development and the priority high-value propositions. Through regular contacts with New Business managers and specialists in markets, and other sources of insights (Market Knowledge research, Global New Business pipeline analysis, etc.), identifies trends and key factors of success and influence markets to adjust their strategies and priorities accordingly through capacity building webinars (Corporate Zoomcamp, Corporate Leadership Meeting, etc.). 4. Manages staff and/or consultants in the new business team for maximum results: Ensures work plans are developed and objectives and targets are achieved. Provides expertise and guidance on new partnership development to line reports. To qualify as a Champion for every child you will have? Education: An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Business, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience in fundraising or marketing, commercial- or non-commercial partnerships development or management of which a minimum of two years in an international context is required. Good commercial awareness and proven business acumen is required. A proven track record of meeting deadlines is required. At least two years of experience in managing staff is required. The ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines is required. Strong communication and excellent writing skills are required. Proven experience in identifying, developing, and securing a new business pipeline, including successfully securing new corporate partnerships at a US$ 7-figure per year and above funding value is an asset. Experience in directly influencing senior decision makers both internally and at international companies is an asset. UNICEF/UN experience is an asset, with a strong understanding of UNICEF's programmatic work and areas. Language requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset. For every Child, you demonstrate...
