The Business Excellence (BEX) Lead in Athens is reports directly to the site General Manager, is a member of the Athens Site Leadership Team, and supports the J&J Innovative Medicine Small Molecule Platform Business Excellence team.
The Business Excellence Lead role is an exciting role where you will be exposed to a very broad part of supply chain; you will deliver value for our customers through local initiatives in Athens as well as across the API Platform.

The Business Excellence, Digital & Strategy Lead will play a central role in partnering with the General Manager and Site Leadership Team to develop a multi-year site strategy, partnering across functions to leverage functional strategies and roadmaps to build an aligned overarching strategy.
This role will lead the Operational Excellence lean maturity and the Digital & Technology programs toward our site vision.
This role leads program and project management (PMO) and associated governance processes that drive continuous improvement both within the business unit as well as certain elements of the Small Molecule Platform.
The BEX Lead will be accountable to improve and sustain business results through the application of JJPS (Johnson & Johnson Production System) deployment methodologies across the business units.
This function takes lead in developing & sustaining improvement roadmaps (Continuous Improvement Project roadmap and tracking in the J&J Project Management Organization platform), creating and directing the improvement pipeline to deliver savings in line with the site strategy and strategic plan for the Small Molecule platform.
Role model and coach the Athens teams in building a continuous improvement approach and capabilities, including ground-breaking change and continuous improvement! This role will lead the Digital Center of Practice to develop and drive execution of the Digital Strategy Roadmap for the site and partner with the DOTS organization as the support organization for the digital strategy, maturity, and portfolio of digital solutions.
The Business Excellence, Digital & Strategy Lead will oversee the Operations Support Manager with responsibility for driving Operational Excellence and oversight of the Operations Training Program.
Key Responsibilities.
Collaborating effectively across functions and key platform and enterprise partners to deliver our operational excellence, digital, and technology programs.
Lead & advance site JJPS & Lean methodology & maturity (6S, Value Stream Mapping, Digital Performance Management, Process Confirmation, etc.) Own the site’s JJPS cycles as JJPS SME & Champion, as well as support key platform programs that drive continuous improvement and cost reductions Developing & sustaining improvement roadmaps (CIP roadmap and tracking in the J&J PMO platform) Lead Digital Center of Practice, develop & sustain site Digital Strategy Roadmap Champions people and organization development initiatives and supports both SM Platform BEx Leads and Athens Site Leadership Team in SM platform and JJPS organizational change efforts.
Role model behavior and coach the organization and project leads in continuous improvement mentality Partner and collaborate closely with the broader BEx community and JJPS leaders to alignment of approaches and acceleration of proven practices Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled accordance with the responsibilities defined in the Company Safety Statement Qualifications Education.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, preferably within Supply Chain, Engineering or other science-related fields Experience and Skills.
Required.
Minimum of 8 years of Supply Chain/Operations experience required with consistent track record.
Demonstrated leadership, change management competencies, training delivery and deployment of LEAN at multiple levels of an organization Eye for business and ability to think creatively and go beyond.
Understanding of overall business environment, including financial acuity Strongly skilled in process improvement and structural problem solving Outstanding social skills, able to inspire trust and quickly build credibility – Ability to be a change agent capable of influencing without direct authority across multiple functions and organizational levels Strong desire to contribute, be held accountable and be rewarded for delivering value and robust results Preferred.
Lean Black Belt or Six Sigma Black Belt Other.
Must be proficient in English The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds This position may require up to 15% domestic & international travel This job posting is anticipated to close on November .
