Purpose of the position   The SVP of the division will have the overall responsibility for the strategic directional, operational and financial results of the business unit.
They are tasked with building the business, working closely with the Sales (Markets) to bring the right focus to the division as well as delivering the right products and solutions to the market and repositioning the brand effectively, set the product roadmap effectively and driving Product Development.
Main tasks and responsibilities     Develop and implement a strategy to enhance the growth of the division Full P&L responsibility Provide visionary and inspirational leadership for the organization that maximises employee engagement Building a high performing team with the culture that enables each employee to reach their full potential Drive customer centricity and intimacy by understanding the voice-of-the-customer in order to assure the offering ideally fit for purpose Develop an optimal distribution and sales channel strategy Understand the market potential and drive sales and profitability Develop a multi-generation product plan for the next 10 to 15 years Constantly improve operations, sourcing, R&D and asset optimization Plan, lead, and deliver on organic investments, mergers & acquisitions that support the strategy Ensure compliance with Cargotec policies.
Competence and skills.
The ideal candidate will have P/L management experience industrial businesses across different job levels, demonstrating a consistent record of accomplishments within a product driven business.
They will have had overall responsibility and accountability for growth and profitability globally.
They will have also managed through all types of business climates, while remaining focused on the longer-term business goals.
A key element of the successful candidate’s profile will be a track record for revenue and earnings growth, preferably with global responsibility.
Solid experience of leading aftermarket function in global or regional context and good track record in managing a product business.
Used to working in a global and international business environment in a matrix organisation.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
Experience from working with change management.
Strong financial skills, knows and understands numbers.
Creative in finding solutions for customer requests.
Fluent in English.
Foundational   Develop and implement a strategy for the business.
Improve transparency with full P&L visibility on product level.
Increase transparency of Product Portfolio performance, rationalise the Product range.
Align R&D with customer specific needs.
Work closely with the Aftermarket business.
Align plant managers - sourcing to enable optimal commercial performance.
Commercial   Increase customer orientation and proximity.
Understanding voice-of-the-customer and fitness-for-use criteria.
Optimise the sales and marketing capabilities in the field.
Understand the market potential and drive accountability.
Refine the go-to-market and channel distribution strategy.
Operational   Drive sales, profitability.
Improve product lifecycle management.
Improve Manufacturing, Sourcing and R/D and asset optimization.
Build cost effective operations while improving the product demand planning process.
Footprint Determine the most effective use and location of the production assets.
Improve distribution assets, location and function to support the go-to-market strategy.
Create a mid-term plan that establishes a roadmap of investment that supports the Loader Cranes Heavy Superheavy strategy.
What you’ll need to succeed   Ability to work effectively with Segments, Markets, Global sourcing and Customers.
Previous experience with product sales, marketing and customer service.
Previous experience leading a Product business that goes to market through distribution.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross functionally with other leaders.
Motivational leadership skills, strong team orientation, and creative thinker.
Strategic thinking skills with strong business analytical skill sets.
