Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations.
A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Research and Advisory business, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional, and/or global levels.
Using exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to mission critical priorities.
They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day.
They engage via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.
This analyst role sits within Gartner’s CIO and Industries Research, Government and Education Practice.
The analyst will support CIOs and other technology executives in accelerating national defense modernization and innovation.
As geopolitical uncertainties and disruptive forces impact defense organizations and their allies and partners, this role will focus on emerging technologies and practices to support operational resilience, multi-domain integration and interoperability, and workforce readiness.  What You Will Do Track U.

Write evidence-based content that is easily consumed, defensible and actionable.
Deliver high-quality actionable advice to an executive client audience (e.
., CIOs, program executive officers, CTOs, etc.) through a variety of media.
Create and deliver presentations for webinars, executive briefings and other client-facing events.
Build credibility as a defense market expert representing Gartner Research and Advisory Deliver outstanding sales and service support to retain and grow the Gartner business.
Actively participate in ideation and research community discussions, and collaborate effectively with colleagues across our research community.
Identify research process improvements or develop new processes that help the team and Research & Advisory provide excellent service delivery.
Be a mentor and a coach by supporting more junior team members What You’ll Need Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred 12+ years of relevant IT and/or program executive leadership working for or with US federal government and defense, including its ecosystem of allies, partners, IT vendors and contractors  An informed understanding of the strategic and operational challenges facing defense leaders within and across military domains (i.
., land, sea, air, space, cyber)  Experience in defense operating in joint and/or combined service organizations Extensive experience in U.
.
defense leading strategy and/or implementation of programs and technical capabilities in one or more of the following areas.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is USD - USD.
Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
