SPECIALIST SUPPORT WORKER MODERN SLAVERY (£25,057PER ANNUM WITH FUTURE PROGRESSION POSSIBLE) FULL-TIME

South West based charitable housing association BCHA was founded over 50 years ago with a continuing mission to meet housing need and end homelessness. We aim to achieve this through the building and provision of affordable and secure homes, and by supporting individuals to take control and lead independent, fulfilled lives. Our doors are open to everyone. BCHA are a diverse and growing specialist housing, learning and support provider. We are currently recruiting for Specialist Support Workers to join our team on the Liberty project . BCHA work closely with the Salvation Army to provide support to survivors of ‘modern slavery’. We are recruiting new people who really want to make a difference, working with us as Specialist Support Workers supporting ‘survivors’ of modern slavery. These roles will be supporting clients predominately in the South West. Our Specialist Support Workers offer support that is integrated, holistic and trauma informed and geared towards meeting the individual needs of each ‘survivor’. We adopt a multi-agency approach and work in partnership with other agencies to ensure ‘survivors’ access their entitlements while we support them to gain confidence and the skills they need to recover and help them move forward. Our key aim is to empower individuals and promote independence . We can offer you the opportunity to: · join a professional and friendly team who have backgrounds in either social work, substance abuse, housing, trauma care, child and youth services; · work in a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE); · use a holistic, non-biased trauma informed approach; · use your transferrable skills and experience to achieve best outcomes for ‘survivors’; · receive full training, support and supervision to support ‘survivors’ effectively; Being a driver is a requirement for this position,. Apply today for immediate interviews. · provide weekly 1- 1 sessions with individual ‘survivors’ that are outcome focussed; · work within ‘professional boundaries’ and use trauma focused strategies; · listen to and build trust with ‘survivors’ · work with complex needs, challenging behaviours and manage presenting risks; · be an advocate on behalf of ‘survivors’; · build good working relationships with agencies and liaise effectively; · empower ‘survivors’ to find their own way and promote independence; · be self-motivated, proactive, resilient, empathic and non-judgemental;
