Job Summary: Altair’s Inspire software environment (https://.../inspire/) is the industry's most powerful, versatile and easy-to-use Generative Design/Topology Optimization and rapid simulation solution. It enhances the concept development process by enabling simulation-driven design to increase product efficiency, strength, and manufacturability. This can lead to a reduction in material consumption, development time, and overall cost. Inspire enables users to create new design concepts as well as modify and optimize existing ones with full parametric modeling in simple and intuitive workflows. Users can exercise familiar, conventional parametric CAD-like tools along with doing elegant freeform modeling with poly-NURBS/subdivision technology. What You Will Do: We are looking for a talented, highly motivated candidate to join Altair as a Software Development Intern in the Inspire programming team, working from our office in Vicenza, Italy. The offer is targeted to students aiming to do an internship as final thesis for their Master's degree (Laurea Magistrale). As an intern, you’ll contribute to developing the next generation of shape design implementations, exploring possible applications of the most recent AI models. You’ll be collaborating to discuss the requirements, propose and implement solutions, develop algorithms, and implement workflows including user interface, deriving and automating from existing geometry features. You'll be working in an international environment, and by interacting with our developers, you'll be guided to follow the best programming practices to produce high-quality, testable, and reusable code. What You Will Need: Basics: C++ programming skills with a strong motivation to learn and improve them. Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian. Strong passion for programming. Good analytical skills. Preferred: Coding experience using 3D geometry tools like matrices, vectors, transforms, shape representations. Experience with the Visual Studio IDE under Windows. Usage of 3D libraries like Parasolid/ACIS/CGAL/OpenVDB/Granite/OpenCASCADE/Unity/Unreal Engine is a plus. Experience in using CAD/3D software like SolidWorks/Rhino/SketchUp/Blender is a plus. Basic Python knowledge. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
