SHIPS OPERATION / LUGANO

On behalf of our esteemed Customer we are looking for a.
NAVAL / SHIPS OPERATION / LUGANO Duties and responsibilities.
Supervising the work of the Shipmanagers and determining whether any specific repairs, maintenance and/or other jobs (“Works”) are necessary and appropriate to be conducted and carried out on board the Ships, including whether such Works are reasonably priced; Exercising budgetary control of the Ships’ OPEX; Monitoring that the delivery process of spare parts and any and all provisions on board the Ships is performed in a proper, timely, effective and efficient manner by the Shipmanagers; Preparing shipyard job lists, dealing with shipyards and supervising drydockings and underwater inspections of the Ships; Outlining the requirements and assessing the competence and suitability of crew on board the Ships; Monitoring the planned maintenance systems of the Ships to ensure that they are properly updated and all jobs are performed in a timely manner; Supervising overhauling and other major repair and maintenance works on board the Clients’s Ships Supervising that the IT Systems on board the Ships are all running smoothly and trouble free; Providing input during the Fleet expansion projects including evaluation of specification requirements, contribution on new-building projects, advising on condition of the second-hand ships, advising on ships conversions and modifications, all in accordance with any and all regulations applicable; Ensuring proper and due implementation and follow up of the Company’s suppliers’ contracts relating to the operation of the Ships and proposing any possible improvements, if any, where necessary and required; Reviewing payment of any of the Clients ’s suppliers’ invoices relating to operations after checking their correctness and accuracy; Performing internal technical audits and/or inspections on the technical and general condition of the Ships and reporting to the Clientst, the intervals of any such internal audits and/or inspections to be agreed with the Clients in advance in writing; Arranging for external audits and/or inspections on the technical condition and general condition of the Ships by the respective surveyors and/or auditors as instructed by the Company.
The intervals and timing of such external audits and/or inspections shall be advised by the Clients to the Consultant in advance in writing, however, in any event, the said external audits and/or inspections shall be not less than once every 2 years; Ensuring that all the Ships are properly and duly kept and maintained to the standard required by the Classification Society and following up any such matters with the Shipmanager and Classification Society as required and necessary; Arranging all marine insurances for the Ships in accordance with the prior written instructions of the Clients; Arranging mobilisation and demobilisation of the Ships as well as any requirements of the Ships’ charterers according to the instructions of the Clents; Assisting the Clients with the completion of the client prequalification questionnaires; Monitoring carefully the Shipmanagers’ HSQE reporting and ensuring that all incidents, accidents, near misses, non-conformities and any and all irregularities are adequately and properly documented and handled.
The Consultant shall examine and ensure, that the description of the aforesaid and the underlying reasons for their occurrence are correctly identified and recorded and that any corrective and preventative actions taken by the Shipmanagers are proper and adequate Ensuring implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management and Environmental Management System in compliance to the ISO .
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledges and experience.
Knowledge of the naval sector Experience within shipyards or similar companies, in technician roles Fluent knowledge of Italian and English
