om/medtech We are searching for the best talent for a Robotics and Controls Internship position, based in Santa Clara, CA.
The Robotics & Controls Intern will join the wider Robotics & Controls team.
We are a group of highly motivated roboticists working on development of algorithms and productions level software that live at the heart of a complex robotic surgical system for medical applications.
We work in a variety of exciting robotic functions including but not limited to kinematic and dynamic analysis, motion generation, control algorithms, system response characterization, performance and detailed software development.
You will be responsible for.
Developing, implementing, and testing control algorithms for sophisticated robotic systems.
Actively participate in algorithmic, control, mechanical design discussions and code reviews.
Developing C++ software for real-time, safety critical applications.
Qualifications Required.
Currently enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or other related Engineering, and returning to an academic program after the completion of the internship.
In depth understanding of robot forward and inverse kinematics and dynamics, motion trajectories and path planning.
Knowledge of classical control theory and estimation techniques.
Experience applying classical mechanics analysis techniques in real world applications Excellent communication and documentation.
Able to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.
., F1, H1-B status).
Must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.
or higher and be available to work the hours agreed upon with the hiring manager.
Preferred.
Familiarity working with large codebases and have a good understanding of computer science fundamentals (e.
.
object-oriented design and data structures in UNIX environments).
Strong programming experience in Python and/or Matlab.
Familiarity with C++.

The anticipated base pay for this position for candidates in a Robotics discipline is Sophomore $/hr, Junior $/hr, Senior $/hr, Masters $/hr, PhD $/hr.
The anticipated base pay for this position for candidates in other Engineering disciplines (not Robotics) is Sophomore $/hr, Junior $/hr, Senior $/hr, Masters $/hr, PhD $/hr.
