Daniele Catalucci at the Institute of Genetic and Biomedical Research – National Research Council (IRGB-CNR), Milan Unit.
The unit is situated at Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano, Milan, Italy.
Key Responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be engaged in a funded PRIN PNRR project entitled “A Chaperone Network Shapes Heart Resilience During Stress and Aging.” The project’s objective is to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying chaperone protection in cardiac aging.
Specifically, the research will focus on elucidating the functional connection between the chaperone subunit of the L-type calcium channel (LTCC) and subcellular compartments, as well as developing potential novel therapeutic approaches to replicate the cardioprotective effects.
Essential Qualifications.
Candidates must possess a strong drive and ambition.
They are expected to demonstrate excellent organizational and team-oriented skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
Required technical expertise encompasses molecular and cellular biology, with a preference for confocal microscopy.
Experience with mouse handling and a background in cardiac muscle research are highly desirable.
Proficiency in verbal and written English communication is paramount.
The successful candidate will be offered a one-year contract with the potential for extension.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
