About the International Climate Politics Hub (ICPH) The ICPH brings together a global network of actors to catalyze climate action, especially of national governments in the context of the implementation of the Paris Agreement, working in cooperation with partners to ensure that opportunity – directly or indirectly related to climate – leads to strong climate plans and collaboration. The ICPH is managed and supported by a Secretariat team housed in, and forming part of, the European Climate Foundation’s International Portfolio. The ICPH Secretariat helps guide and manage the strategy, activities, and impact of its global network, as well as delivering the regranting strategy that supports many of the Hub’s activities and experts. About the role We are looking for a Programme Manager (maternity cover) to help lead the ICPH network and Secretariat team and support the activities of the Hub. The Manager, working closely with the Director, will play a key role in ensuring smooth running of the ICPH team and network, and impactful design and delivery of the ICPH Strategy. This includes working with the Director and network on strategy design and delivery, ensuring strong alignment between the overarching ICPH strategy and its regranting strategy, strategic regranting, team management, and oversight of day to day operations to ensure effective delivery of ICPH’s work and goals. The Programme manager is also responsible for ensuring and building strong relationships with key partners, as well as smooth, cohesive running of the Global Network. The ideal candidate will bring robust leadership, strategic thinking, compassionate people management, strong communication and facilitation skills, and strong expertise in international climate politics. Considering the complexity of international climate politics, having a track record in bridge-building strategies is a plus. The Programme Manager will work as part of the Secretariat team and ECF, working closely with the various ICPH leads, and the network to develop and implement strategies to influence ambition in global climate politics. The successful candidate will be responsible for:   strategy development and delivery: working with the ICPH Director to design and deliver the ICPH strategy, in collaboration with the Secretariat and members of the global network. This requires close engagement with the network of ICPH grantees and partners. Look for crosscutting projects and international networks, facilitate gathering and sharing of political intelligence, and determine and deliver opportunities and tactical interventions for influence, projects, and partners to multiply impact and deliver on the ICPH strategy. team leadership and people management: supporting the ICPH Director in leadership of the Secretariat team; contributing to a positive and dynamic team culture; day to day team management and line management of ICPH team and team members to ensure delivery and support personal development, conduct HR administration to ensure team function and wellbeing.   strategic grant-making: ensuring strong alignment between ICPH’s overarching political strategy and it’s regranting strategy to facilitate smooth, impactful implementation, including: development and implementation of a regranting strategy to ensure successful deliver of ICPH strategy through appropriate partnerships, relationships, and projects; oversight of budget development and regranting implementation scoping the landscape and identifying opportunities for collaboration and grant making grant and relationship management. relationship management and strategic communication: in coordination with the Secretariat, liaise with members of the global network, ICPH leads and partners, colleagues, ECF CEO Office, etc, to ensure trusted relationships, delivery of strategy, and timely gathering and dissemination of intel. This includes: coordination of, and leadership across, the ICPH global network ensuring holistic overview, connections between members and other international networks as necessary, a high-trust, action orientated culture and community. responsibility for maintaining and building strong relationships with key strategic partners and organizations; working closely with colleagues in the ECF International Portfolio and CEO office, to ensure strong alignment of strategy and sharing of best practice and learning across ECF.   Experience and competencies Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of the ECF and International Climate Politics Hub; being familiar with ICPH would be a plus. A track record of experience in international climate politics and/or international civil society organisations (at least 8-10 years of experience), with a keen understanding of climate and broader geopolitical landscape. Demonstrated leadership skills in developing and implementing political strategy and managing delivery as part of an international network, with ability to adapt and translate the program’s strategy accordingly. Proven track record of working in a network that demands discretion and confidentiality and bridge building, fostering collaborating with others from various cultures and backgrounds. Proven ability to bring people at all levels together and get things done regardless of level. Agile leader, with the ability to follow through with smart and adaptive implementation of plans Strong and compassionate team leadership and people management skills, with a team-minded attitude, excellent coordination and cooperation skills to work harmoniously with a tight-knit and highly collaborative team; Ability to achieve efficient, timely, quality results by directing efforts on expected outcomes, while remaining ready to learn and receive feedback. Availability to travel internationally and to work across time zones while maintaining a healthy work and life balance.
