POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN CARDIOVASCULAR / MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
Descrizione dell'offerta di lavoro
A Postdoctoral fellow position is available, starting from March , in the “Circadian Metabolism Lab” leaded by Dr.
Carolina Greco at Humanitas University.
The Humanitas Reseach Center is a state-of-the-art research facility located in Milano, Italy.
It employs about 300 scientists who develop distinct projects aimed at dissecting mechanisms underlying biological processes relevant to human health and disease.
In more than 30 laboratories, processes involved in normal and pathological immune responses, cancer development, neurological and cardiovascular disorders are investigated.
The Humanitas Research Center operates in close proximity with the neighboring Humanitas Hospital, allowing for cutting-edge translational projects.
About the project The position is funded through a recently awarded ERC Starting Grant that will explore mechanisms of interorgan communication in cardiovascular disease.
The project will combine multi-disciplinary approaches, integrating metabolic and cardiac phenotyping of mouse models of heart failure with various omics approaches (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, metabolomics).
An in vivo proteomic approach will be used to identify cardiomyocyte secreted proteins capable of regulating whole-body metabolism.
Who we are looking for We are seeking a candidate with a PhD in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or related disciplines, possessing expertise in metabolic research and molecular biology.
Strong publication record in related fields is required.
Research experience with circadian rhythms is a plus.
The candidate should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively and have a collaborative spirit.
Proficiency in English is required.
What we offer Fixed contract of 1 year with possibility of extension for 5 years.
Candidates not residing in Italy are eligible to tax discount per Italian law.
Salary will be commensurate with the chosen candidate’s level of education, skills, and experience.
Selected publications.
Caputo R, Greco CM*.
“Circadian rhythms and cardiac physiology.
An essential interplay.” International Review of Cell and Molecular Biology In press Panico C, et al.
“Single-Cell RNA Sequencing Reveals Metabolic Stress-Dependent Activation of Cardiac Macrophages in a Model of Dyslipidemia-Induced Diastolic Dysfunction.” Circulation.
Carolina M.
Greco, et al.
“Integration of Feeding Behavior by the Liver Circadian Clock Reveals Network Dependency of Metabolic Rhythms” Science Advances Tagged as.
