Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship: The Max Weber Programme (MWP) at the European University Institute (EUI) is a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship in the historical and social sciences. This highly selective programme, with an acceptance rate of less than 5%, offers 1- and 2-year fellowships to early-stage researchers from around the world. Fellows benefit from an intellectually stimulating environment, extensive multidisciplinary activities, and exceptional research facilities located in the heart of Europe. Research Area: Political and Social Sciences Economics Law History Location: European University Institute, Florence, Italy Candidates of any nationality are eligible. Applicants must have received or be close to receiving their Ph.D. between 01/09/2020 and 01/09/2025. Ph.D. defense must occur by 31/12/2025. The programme is open to candidates within 5 years of completing their Ph.D., with preference given to those who have not previously held a postdoctoral fellowship. Candidates should have a high level of English proficiency (C1 level CEFR) as demonstrated by recognized English language certificates or equivalent. Job Description: Max Weber Fellows will: Engage in research within their respective disciplines. Participate in a wide range of multidisciplinary and disciplinary activities. Receive training and support in publishing, teaching, grant applications, and academic job applications. Have access to superb research facilities, including a well-resourced library, shared office space, and a personal research fund. Be eligible for additional grants funded by various governments and foundations. In the second year, fellows in Economics and Political and Social Sciences may apply for a part-time Assistant Professor position, involving teaching and mentoring responsibilities. The application process includes two phases: Early Registration: Applicants are encouraged to register early by providing personal and referee details to allow sufficient time for referees to submit reference letters. Final Submission: Complete and submit the application by 14:00 CEST on 18 October 2024. Ensure all information is accurate and all attachments are uploaded before submission.
