Laundry Master Description The Laundry Attendant primary responsibility is to provide professional laundry service to Guests, Crew and departments onboard, including spotting, washing, drying, pressing, wet cleaning, folding and other operational duties as assigned.
In order to consistently exceed Guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Key Responsibilities Knowledgeable and proficient in the use and care of all laundry equipment.
Responsible for cleaning of linen, towels, table linen, Guest and crew laundry includes washing, spot cleaning, wet cleaning, pressing, folding and appropriate preparation of laundry items in order to return to operations.
Helping with luggage on load on embarkation days.
Collecting dirty towels and linen from the decks Communicates with Internal Guests in a friendly and professional manner and strives to exceed their expectations of service at all times.
Maintain a strong sense of urgency at all times while on duty and offers assistance to others around him/her without hesitation.
Assist in achieving the budgets by minimizing waste and breakage and maintaining proper handling procedures.
Ensure that all areas and machinery are maintained in accordance with Seabourn policy, Public Health (HESS), SMS, safety and environmental regulations.
Abide by the code of conduct.
To be familiar with and execute the Seabourn HESS-MS appropriate to their position.
Ensure that all working hours, including overtime, have been recorded accurately and truthfully on his timesheet for each time period worked.
Ensures he is productive at all times and assists in decreasing overtime by informing Management when Crew Members are not needed in assigned area during down times.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise High School diploma or similar preferred.
1 Year Laundry Attendant or similar.
Cruise ship experience preferred.
Physical & Travel Requirements PhysicalDemands.
For the safety of yourself and others on board certain physical abilities shall be maintained.
Must be able to bend, climb, perform repetitive motion, and repetitively heavy lift.
Must maintain physical fitness to perform tasks associated with job.

Working hours are longer and work is more intense due to the constant demand of the guests.
You have to be very flexible in your working hours, which on occasion might have to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Maritime Labour Convention of however strictly regulates these.
Apart from the working hours there are strict rules which all members of the shipus company need to adhere to as stipulated by the Masterus standing orders.
You work in close proximity with your fellow crewmembers and therefore respect among all is essential.
