JOINT PHD POSITION WITH LHCB EXPERIMENT

The successful candidate will be part of the LHCb experiment and will focus on studies of angular distributions and CP violation observables in semileptonic decays of B hadrons.
The aim of these studies is to search for effects beyond the Standard Model in the charged-current electroweak transitions which mediate B hadron decays.
he research programme will include the development of analysis procedures, performing simulation-based feasibility studies and analysing a large dataset of B hadron decays collected by the LHCb experiment.
The candidate will also participate in the operation of the LHCb experiment at CERN.
he duration of the PhD programme is 3 years.
The candidate is expected to spend a total of 2 years in France and 1 year in Italy, with short visits to CERN (Geneva, Switzerland).
e accept applications from candidates holding master’s degree in particle physics.
Good knowledge of particle physics phenomenology, mathematical methods of data analysis, and computer programming are required.
