INVESTMENT TEAM INTERN (M/F) | GREY SILO VENTURES

Are you fascinated by the world of startups? Are you passionate about innovation in agri-foodtech? Do you want to become a protagonist in the world of European Venture Capital? At the first Corporate VC fund in Italy active in the agri-foodtech sector, we are looking for a motivated and resourceful junior individual to join the investment team. Initially onboarded via -paid- internship, starting from October, the position will last 6 months and can be carried out in our Milan office (with the possibility to work from home 2 days/week). Curious to know what you will do with us? You will support the investment team in sourcing the next unicorn and help with deal flow management activities: this includes getting in touch with the main key people of the companies, establishing relationships with accelerators, incubators, universities, innovation hubs and various communities. You will support the investment team in the screening and due diligence process on companies in the pipeline, collaborating closely with the scientific advisory board and our venture partners. You will support the investment team in propelling growth to our portfolio companies. You will help define (and refine) the fund's investment thesis with research into new markets, emerging trends and new scientific discoveries. You will support GSV's extended team in the conception and creation of branded content that can elevate GSV's positioning within the ecosystem. You will represent GSV at industry events, fairs and summits. What the ideal candidate needs to have to succeed in this role. Hustling ability: you work smartly and with dedication, knowing how to orientate yourself in different situations and contexts, always keeping the end goal in sight. Opportunities in VC do not fall from the sky, so we expect proactivity and spirit of initiative in looking for the best startups! Innate curiosity and open mind: we are looking for someone who is not afraid to always get involved and get his/her hands dirty, whether it is by learning about a new technology or going to talk to a stranger at an event. Reliability and responsibility: We expect the person to have an excellent sense of responsibility, without having to always seek validation and at the same time being able to manage several work streams, without forgetting the quality of the output. Acumen and cunning mind: if you combine a strong logical component with the ability to distinguish potential "flaws in the plan" of entrepreneurs, challenging them with direct and specific questions, you have what it takes to emerge as a VC. What are we looking for? Graduating / graduated individuals in Business Administration, Management Engineering or other specializations related to the world of venture capital. Degrees in food science, biology, biotechnology, biochemical and/or materials engineering will also be considered if accompanied by academic and/or work experience. Previous experiences such as the following will certainly be welcomed but not essential: Experience in Venture Capital Founder / early member of an innovative startup What do we offer? If the first interview is positive, we will introduce you to a couple of members of our scientific board and/or venture partners who will ask you some specific questions about the sector. The last step consists of a final meeting with the managing partner of GSV to understand your motivations and expectations from this role.
