is looking for a dynamic and experienced Industrial Relations Team Lead to join our Human Resources Department at our unionized Ammonia Plant.
This crucial role will lead the collective agreement negotiation process and manage employee relations within a shift environment, ensuring a positive and productive workplace for all employees.
This is an exempt position within the Management Group.
Qualifications & Experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field, from an accredited institution.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in industrial relations, with at least five (5) years in a supervisory or managerial role within a unionized environment.
Advanced diplomas in Industrial Relations/Labour Studies from an accredited institution..
Proven experience leading collective bargaining negotiations and a strong understanding of labor laws and collective agreements.
Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, particularly in an Ammonia Plant, in a shift environment, or similar process facility, is preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in law will be considered an asset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and promote a positive workplace culture across shifts.
Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Any comparable combination of qualifications and experience may be considered.
Responsibilities of the position are but not limited to Lead Collective Agreement Negotiations.
Represent the company in collective bargaining negotiations with union representatives, ensuring fair and effective agreements that align with organizational goals and foster positive labor relations.
Employee Relations Management.
Act as the primary contact for employee relations issues in a shift environment, addressing grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions while adhering to the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
Policy Development and Implementation.
Develop and implement employee relations policies and initiatives that support a positive workplace culture and enhance employee engagement across shifts.
Investigations and Conflict Resolution.
Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and workplace issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution processes.
Compliance Monitoring.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, industry regulations, and company policies, staying updated on changes that may impact employee relations.
Reporting and Analysis.
Prepare reports on employee relations trends and collective agreement negotiations for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Training and Support.
Provide training and support to management and employees on best practices for employee relations, conflict resolution, and effective communication strategies tailored for a shift environment.
Employee Services.
Administration of everyday HR Services such as leave management, compensation and benefits, policy development, HRIS, and HR reporting.
Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required.
