Laboratory for Research on Neurodegenerative Disorders Description.
The Laboratory studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the neurodegenerative processes of specific motor neuron diseases, particularly Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Spinal Muscular Atrophy, with the aim of identifying novel molecular pathways and targets for therapeutic intervention.
The fellow will be involved in investigating the contribution to the neurodegenerative process of the neuronal microenvironment, particularly the neighbouring glial cells and related neuroinflammatory events.
Furthermore, she/he will be implicated in the development and validation of innovative etiology-based drugs for the treatment of these disorders.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in cellular and molecular biology, preferably in working with iPSCs.
