Environmental and Social Regional Manager About the Employer.

Reporting To.
Chief Executive Officer General Secretary Impact & Sustainability Manager Supervising.
HSSES Project Managers Community Liaison Agents Functional Relations.
Cluster Teams Group Impact & Sustainability Team HSSES Impact Representatives Cross-functional Departments (Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Legal) External Relations.
Financial Partners Regulators and Authorities Clients and Users Local Communities Suppliers and Service Providers Project Stakeholders Primary Responsibilities.
Environmental and Social Assessments.
Conduct environmental and social evaluations during project conception.
Screen projects based on environmental and social impacts, defining risk categories and identifying necessary impact studies.
Deliver final E&S due diligence reports and propose mitigation strategies for stakeholder engagement.
Implementation and Monitoring.
Oversee the effective implementation of E&S measures during project execution.
Ensure compliance with E&S standards, such as IFC policies and internal frameworks.
Manage and monitor defined E&S Management Systems for project alignment.
Reporting.
Compile, review, and ensure coherence of periodic E&S performance reports.
Submit consolidated performance reports to senior management.
Risk and Compliance Management.
Implement HSSES audit plans and oversee independent reviews.
Maintain active awareness of best practices in E&S risk management.
Capacity Building and Certification.
Train and guide project beneficiaries on E&S procedures, principles, and standards.
Manage certification processes, including carbon credits and associated audits.
Key Competencies.
Technical Expertise.
Comprehensive knowledge of IFC Standards.
Experience with ESAP, PGES, and CSR practices.
Strong understanding of E&S risks and regulatory compliance.
Analytical Skills.
Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing complex data.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Stakeholder Management.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Expertise in building relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators and communities.
Leadership.
Direct and cross-functional team management experience.
Proven ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through project phases.
Qualifications.
Education.
Master's degree in Environmental or Social Sciences or equivalent.
Experience.
7 years in ESG-intensive sectors (energy, banking, or industry), with 2+ years in ESG management.
Experience in the energy sector is highly valued.
Skills.
Fluent in English and French.
Advanced project management and planning abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Specific Requirements.
Deep knowledge of IFC standards.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive mindset.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
