ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MULTIPLE POSITIONS)

This position will be based at the San Lorenzo facility for approximately 3 months following the start date.
Subsequently, the position will be based at the Manatí facility.
Ethicon is expanding its manufacturing operations to Manatí, Puerto Rico.
Resources hired will work in San Lorenzo temporarily until the Manatí Manufacturing Facility is operational.

The Engineering Technician will assist in the installation, debugging, troubleshooting, qualification, and training of new equipment.
Give supports to Maintenance Engineers and provide solutions to recurrent maintenance and operational problems.
Essential functions and responsibilities.
Assist Process Engineer in installation, qualification, and validation of new and existing equipment.
Serve as trainer for new and/or modified equipment.
Optimize and improve manufacturing systems as required (e.
., modifications of programmable logic controller, development of new techniques).
Craft, design and perform electrical installation of new production equipment in accordance with layout requirements.
Assist the Process & Maintenance Engineer in providing technical support to the Production area in evaluating process/equipment deficiencies, failures & modifications.
Customer Oriented Mentality - Provide good customer service to all Business Units, as required Support manufacturing in the day-to-day troubleshooting situations and actively participates on Integrated Production Team’s (IPT).
Work with appropriate manufacturing representatives to ensure manufacturing operations and projects receive effective technical support in alignment with EPS.
Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator.
Qualifications Education.
Associate Degree in Electronics, Electricity or related field required.
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics preferred.
Minimum of six years of experience as Engineering Technician or equivalent position.
Required Experience and Skills.
Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays Programming & Troubleshooting of (Texas Instruments, KOYO, ALLEN BRADLEY & SEIMENS) PLCs Advance computer skills and use of software application (s) such as.
DOS, WINDOWS & DMACS Fully Bilingual, written & Oral (Spanish & English) 10% Travel requirement between Ethicon Locations, Domestic and/or international travel Preferred.
Previous automation project experience PLC and Electromechanical Systems Troubleshooting and Brainstorming experience Experience with systems Ladder Logic Programming, Developing & Troubleshooting of (ALLEN BRADLEY, Automation Direct & SIEMENS) PLCs and HMIs Knowledge in Vision Systems and Structured Language Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
