ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for the maintenance and repair of electronic systems onboard as directed by the Chief Electrical Engineer.

00a0 Satellite Communication Systemsu00a0 C-Band satellite communication to ensure that the system is operating to optimum performanceu00a0 Telephone Systemu00a0 Internal Communication systems including Portable Radios and Pagersu00a0 Satellite TV Systemu00a0 VHF Radios Public Address Systemu00a0 Responsible for reporting any concerns with the electronic systems to the Chief Electrical Engineer and Technical Operations Communications Manager.
00a0 On ships where there are both Electronic Engineer and an Electronic Engineer Jr.
/ Communication, the Electronic Engineer will oversee the Electronic Engineer Jr.
/ Communication's duties.
00a0 The Electronic Engineer Jr.
/ Communication must be familiar with safety routines and ensure that the necessary safeguards are in place before any maintenance/repair work commences.
00a0 Must be familiar with Class Rules and industry standards and the implication of any modifications to electrical systems.
00a0 Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed.
The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
