Mid-Senior DevOps/Data Engineer (AWS) We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps/Data Engineer with strong proficiency in AWS to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in building scalable architecture on AWS and providing support to engineering teams with DevOps practices. This role requires a blend of expertise in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and DevOps to ensure robust, secure, and efficient operations. AWS Architecture and Implementation: Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS. Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Ensure the security, availability, and performance of all cloud environments. Data Engineering: Develop and manage data pipelines and ETL processes to support data analytics and business intelligence. Optimise data storage and retrieval processes for performance and scalability. Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with data governance standards. DevOps Practices: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle. Develop and manage monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system reliability and performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes and operational efficiency. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with engineering teams to provide DevOps and data engineering support. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application issues. Provide guidance and training to team members on best practices in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and DevOps. Collaborate with wider business stakeholders where necessary. Present to wider business stakeholders where necessary. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, DevOps tools, and data engineering technologies. Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and improvement in existing processes. Contribute to the development and implementation of product and technology roadmaps and strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role with a strong focus on AWS. Proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, EB, Redshift, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Experience with data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow). Strong understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Data Analytics. Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery).
