DATA SPECIALIST (DATA GOVERNANCE & DATA QUALITY)

Description Data Specialist, QUADS COE About the role.
  The Data Excellence Specialist will be the first responder for all data quality related questions from our diverse user base.
In this role, you will (1) gain a deep understanding of our wide range of data sources, (2) build relationships with engineers and product managers in order to triage incoming issues appropriately, (3) have a user-first outlook as you work to solve day-to-day data & dashboard issues, and (4) have the opportunity to suggest product & dashboard improvements to automate data quality checks.
You will learn about the process of integrating several nuanced data sources into a complex data pipeline & collaborating with Research & Advisory teams to accept the final product.
This role provides excellent exposure to a full range of topics important to CMOs; to peers in other business units and practices across Gartner and other Centers of Excellence (COEs), as well as the opportunity to apply and further develop communication and technical skills.
What you will do.
  Monitor QA dashboards for data inconsistencies; flag irregularities in data patterns and collaborate with PMs and Engineering to highlight and fix in a timely manner.
Serve as an expert on our available data sets; be a go-to resource for data related questions.
Help to triage and prioritize all incoming requests; communicate and escalate any bugs/downtime to appropriate stakeholders.
Work with Product Managers and COEs to ensure resolution of issues.
Coordinate with Engineering to validate data flowing through tools before release.
Investigate any issues that are raised by researchers, analysts and Centers of Excellence during final phase of data handoff for Digital IQs including validating data for requested scenarios using SQL queries and providing documented examples of data accuracy.
Provide training to relevant stakeholders on what constitutes a legitimate data concern during the Digital IQ development process.
Provide updates on status to Digital IQ Lead as applicable.
Assist Business Intelligence leads with QA efforts during handoff of Channel DIQs.
Assist Methodology lead with data tests and validation for new data vendors & ongoing data vendor issues.
Create tickets in Jira for any bugs and track their resolution with Product Managers.
Update and provide data quality awareness to  associates and senior leaders on cross-functional teams in a variety of settings including 1.
engagements and relevant meetings.
What you will need.
  College degree in a related discipline.
1-2 years of experience in a data quality, data analyst, or database management role.
Some experience working with reporting tools such as PowerBI.
Some experience communicating with developers to build out tools or dashboards preferred.
Expertise in SQL with experience in data validation preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel), G Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets).
Experience with Jira or any similar Project Management tool Strong interest and love of data & data pipelines.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to perform gracefully under pressure and meet inflexible or shifting deadlines.
Positive, diplomatic, objective solution-oriented approach to problems.
Ability to perform as part of a global team as well as individually.
Ability to prioritize effectively & communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
Ability to clearly explain (both via written and verbal communication) data concerns raised by stakeholders to increase confidence in data health.
Attentive, focused and meticulous mentality; ability to quickly context switch & pay attention to detail.
A willingness to be flexible as product needs and priorities change/evolve over time.
