We are looking for a Content Editor who is not only a meticulous copy editor and proofreader, but who can go beyond copy edits to ensure all written content adheres to our high standard of quality, serves our audience, and is compelling to read.
You’ll work closely with our Content Writers and Analysts to provide feedback in a collaborative and constructive way as you edit the various types of content they create—including news articles, blog posts, research, and more.
What you’ll do.
Edit articles, blog posts, research reports and other written content created by Content Writers/Analysts for overall writing quality, flow, and tone to ensure it is consistent with our brand and audience, as well as for sentence structure, accuracy, and grammar/punctuation.
Push the team to write content that is conversational and engaging.
Even though we cover complex technological concepts, the content needs to be easily consumable, understandable, and actionable for our readers.
Demonstrate strong writing proficiency in order to rewrite content effectively, make robust suggestions to writers, and complete necessary revisions independently.
Proactively identify common issues in the Writers’/Analysts’ work that detract from quality, consistency or accuracy and provide this feedback in a clear, constructive and collaborative way to ensure mistakes are not repeated.
Look for ways to continually increase the quality of all written content.
Participate in review sessions with writers to deliver constructive feedback.
Proactively search for solutions to common bottlenecks to increase overall content production efficiency as the team continues to scale and more content is produced.
Develop a deep and wide understanding of the business software and technology space in order to be able to verify and challenge the assumptions and opinions in Writers’/Analysts’ content.
Demonstrate complete ownership of assignments with exceptional time and task management.
What you’ll need.
BA in English or equivalent field of study MA in English or an equivalent field of study would be given preference 1-2 years of experience in editing technical web content—preferably a mix of in-depth research reports, news articles, and blog posts Proficiency in MS Suite and Project Management tools.
Ability to provide feedback to writers in a constructive and collaborative way Exceptional editing skills across different content topics and formats.
Proficiency in the AP Style Guide would be a plus.
Strong writing and exceptional proofreading skills Experience editing content about software and or/digital content marketing experience is a huge plus What you’ll get.
