COMBAT SYSTEM SPECIALIST - NAVIRIS (TEMPORARY POSITION)

JOB DESCRIPTION NAVIRIS is looking for a temporary Combat System Specialist for its Engineering Department in Genoa (Italy).

ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities of the “Combat Systems” Specialist are the followings.
To contribute to the follow-up and coordination of the studies of the Combat system of HRZ destroyer as part of the MLU, considering the selected changes of CS subsystems or equipment which are not concerned by PAAMS & LRR, EWS, COMMS and CMS, for which dedicated specialists have been nominated.
To define, within his field of responsibilities, the list of new/updated rules and standards contributing to safety and interoperability, for instance; to be proposed to be implemented during the MLU of HRZ destroyers.
To attend the technical meetings with OEMs and the PCs regarding the upgrade or addition of existing components of the CS, as required by the contract MLU HRZ.
To ensure that the studies related to the upgrade or addition of “other Combat Systems” are correctly carried-out by the OEMs and the PCs, with the correct input data and following the correct schedule.
For this purpose, the specialist shall setup and manage specific meetings and reviews with the suppliers.
He shall also produce specific Document Review Reports for all document received which are in his scope of responsibility.
To obtain from the suppliers and aggregate the data related to each of the proposed additions and upgrades, allowing the update of the different ship technical balances (Weight, CG, Electrical Load and Thermal Balances, specifically).
To produce the deliverables of his responsibility, and ensure the technical homogeneity and the validity of the studies and documents produced by OEMs and/or PCs in his field of responsibilities To plan and conduct the necessary technical reviews (Internal before external) with the WW Architects and the engineering team members, under the technical authority of relevant experts from Naviris and PCs, if necessary.
This includes the Program Reviews.
To participate, in close coordination with the suppliers to the follow-up and coordination (with other suppliers, such as the CSIs and as shipyards) of the activities of setting to work, tests and trials.
Moreover, the CSs Specialist will act for Naviris as SIF Manager.
The SIF, which will be setup in DGA/SESDA premises in St Mandrier, will host successively integration teams from eurosam, then eurosam and Leonardo and finally eurosam and Naval Group for the performance of integration activities and tests of the PAAMS and successively the Italian and the French CMS, at least for their parts in interface with both radars (MFR and LRR) and with the C2 of the PAAMS The SIF Manager will be the local representation of Naviris in front of DGA, will oversee the correct execution of the activities handled by Naval Group (civil works design and implementation, preparation of the rooms before the different teams start operations and will follow the progress of the activities at SIF.
REQUIREMENTS Engineering graduate (Master level) with proven successful experience as a CS specialist in the field of an effectively complex Combat System development.
A successful hands-on experience in a cross-functional technical field such as complex systems integration on a CS Platform is a plus.
You have a good knowledge of combat ships, their functional and physical trees, and several functional chains of the combat system is necessary.
Professional English (speaking, writing and reading) is essential.
Italian or French speeching, speaking, writing and reading would be a plus.
You are organized, you have proven leadership, listening and understanding skills to oversee the design activities by Leonardo, Thales, MBDA, Fincantieri and Naval Group representatives and multiple international partners.
You can fairly interact with Governmental Authorities so as to ease industrial activities performed in Governmental premises.
You are able to integrate subcontracted studies into your activities and to work in a multinational context.
You have a good general knowledge of combat systems such as Sonars, Guns, Optical and Optronic sensors, CMS, Networks, SS Missiles.
You have a good understanding of the requirements of recognized standards and development processes such as ISO or Mil-Std 499 adapted to industrial environments such as Naval Engineering.
You have an experience in Systems Integration, especially on CS platform.
You will contribute to the coordination of studies performed by various suppliers, and interactions between design, procurement and production.
You will follow the development of equipment including their tests (in factory, on platforms, in harbor or at sea) and you will contribute to the elaboration of the compliance with the contractual requirements.
