We are looking for experienced CHIEF ELECTRICIAN ready to join cruise vessel MITSUI OCEAN FUJI.
Embarkation - December Contract 3 months on/off Salary in USD/per month worked - to be advised upon interview KEY RESPONSABILITIES.
Responsible for care and maintenance of electrical and electronics equipment on board.
The Company expects each shipboard employee to consistently exemplify the principles of the Standards to all team members.
In addition, all duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with ISM/ISO and SQM standards, USPH guidelines, Environmental, and Safety policies.
Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various service venues and throughout the ship.

In accordance with Company policy, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
This consists of physical and verbal interactions with guests or fellow shipboard employees and/or in the presence of guest contact and Crew areas.

The Company places the highest value on the environment and all crewmembers shall do the same.
This position shall work with supervisors and subordinates to understand and comply with the company's environmental policies and be committed to safeguarding the environment.
He/shall direct and immediately inform his/her immediate supervisor if any environmental system does not function properly onboard.

The Chief Electrician is the head of all electricians and electronic personnel on board.
He will be responsible to the Chief Engineer for the care and maintenance of all electrical and electronic machinery, equipment and controls, and also for the use and ordering of electrical and electronic spare parts and consumables.
He shall maintain a routine system for testing, checking, and maintaining various electrical and electronic equipment.

May be required to tests and maintain on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as per SOLAS and ISM regulations, all emergency supply sources (Accumulators, batteries and uninterrupted power supply) of all emergency equipment located in the Bridge and Radio Room.

Financial Responsibilities.
The position is responsible for cost containment through the proper use, handling and maintenance of chemicals, supplies and equipment.
Motivational Responsibilities.
He/she shall work with the Chief Engineer to ensure that all environmental systems within his department are operated and maintained to A.

He/she shall work with the Chief Engineer to ensure that all waste streams within his department are properly treated and disposed of following applicable international regulations and company requirements.
Acquaint the 1st Electrician(s), and to a lesser extent, the other Electricians, with all aspects of his duties and responsibilities, and keep them generally informed of the condition of the electrical division.
Lead and coordinate the repair and maintenance work, detailing personnel to their various duties and make arrangements to comply with the requests from the other departments for assistance.
He shall ensure the necessary safety measures are taken to protect personnel and property.
Ensure that at least one of the Electrician aboard ship has a High Voltage Certificate.
Ensure that at least two Electrician are assigned to the work area when work is required on High Voltage Systems.
One of the two Electricians shall be designated the Safety Electrician and be in possession of a High Voltage Certificate.
The Safety Electrical Engineer shall be assigned by the Chief Electrician and shall be responsible for completing the high voltage ‘Permit to Work’ and ensuring that safety procedures and working practices are in accordance, as a minimum, with the ‘High Voltage Working Instructions and Conditions’.
Training of Electricians and Assistant Electricians in safety procedures and assigned duties.
Member of the Shipboard Maintenance Team.
A work report book should be updated daily with detailed information, and kept in the Chief Electricians office for his reference.
Technical Responsibilities.
The Chief Electrician shall ensure that the electrical plant, including elevators, and associated systems are properly operated and maintained in accordance with the applicable regulations.
These duties shall include all electrical equipment and machinery on board.
Be present in the Engine Control Room during maneuvering, drills, and emergencies.
Update maintenance work on the Planned Maintenance System.
Assist the Chief Engineer with the department budget proposals, keep a thorough check on all expenditures and base his requirements and recommendations on sound economic values.
Millennium Class - Ensure proper lock out procedures are followed when performing any work on, or in, the Mermaids.
Appropriate attention to be given to the proper securing of the pods from turning and the propeller shaft from turning.
Braking mechanisms are installed and must be properly locked before allowing personnel to work in the PODS.
Prior to authorizing entry into any pod the Chief Electrician shall confirm with the Bridge that the prevailing current and /or port conditions will not affect the effectiveness of the shaft brake.
Millennium Class- Ensure that special procedures are followed by personnel entering the Pods and that no loose items are carried into the Pods.
All parts and tools entering the Pods must be properly listed before entering and accounted for upon exiting the Pods.
In addition, ensure that special coveralls (no metal fasteners) are used during entry.
Millennium Class - Chief Electrician shall ensure that the procedural instructions for securing and entering the pods is read, understood and followed prior to entry.
Additional routines and work as assigned the Chief Engineer.
Navigation Equipment, including follow up of all service/work by contractors.
Daily communication with the Navigation Officers regarding the state of the bridge equipment, including responding to any comments in the “electrical fault” log book located on the Bridge.
All entertainment systems, like Show lights, Audio/ Video, including related antenna systems.
Stage rigging equipment, including platform lifts and curtains.
Daily communication with Stage and Production Manager, Sound Technician, Light Technicians, Broadcast Technicians.
Telephone exchanges, including related equipment like telephone sets and personal pagers.
All UPS systems including batteries and emergency lighting UPS.
Camera Surveillance System.
Public Address System.
Fire Detection System.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION Minimum hiring, language and physical requirements to perform the job   Hiring Requirements.
Minimum of two years previously in similar position.
Ability to apply customer service skills, according to Pillars of Safety, Service and Style, when interacting with guests and coworkers.
Completion of high school or basic education equivalency preferred.
STCW and social responsibility training completed Electrician’s Certification in accordance with STCW Completed Advanced Fire Fighting training Previous experience as a ship’s electrician on Company vessels Ability to interpret ship's electric drawings and prepare job orders.
Good communication/social skills.
Ability to plan projects, assign priorities, resolve problems and to work with out supervision.
Ability to supervise others.
Strong character Solid professional ethics Well-tempered and well mannered.
LANGUAGE REQUIEREMENTS Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills.
Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS •             While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus •           Extensive travel from ship to ship with varying accommodations and resting opportunities require good health.
Active management of health through diet and exercise is a key for prolonged success in the position •           All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills.
Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
