Career Opportunities: Head of R&D and Product Development (4806) Requisition ID 4806 - Posted - Filtration and Life Sciences - Filtration EMEA and Asia - Turin We are looking for a Head of R&D and Product Development to lead Innovation activities and team within our Global Filtration Business Unit. Purpose of the job To lead product development, product enhancements and product redesign within Global Filtration BU, spreading throughout the organization the culture of innovation and improvement. To define and own the innovation strategy in cooperation with the BU VP and the Leaders of the BU Regions (Americas, EMEA, Asia). To ensure the building and implementation of a Product Development plan to fulfill the innovation and development targets of the Filtration Business Unit. To manage the development roadmap with customers proactively and pragmatically. To represent the BU for Group R&D in Pont Eveque and Apprieu. To promote HSE, quality and sustainability culture across the regions as top priority. Part of the BU leadership team, contributing to the BU overall development. Main responsibilities To promote continuous improvement in safety culture across the organization, in order to pursue the zero accidents target. To facilitate cross fertilization of product development, quality and process improvement plans, as well as cross/global selling of new products. To manage the product development portfolio of global Filtration business ensuring the alignment with Group, Division and BU strategy. To coordinate the Filtration Product Development team in order to become more sustainable and increase the value for our customers, owners and employees. To ensure the inception and introduction of new products in accordance with customer needs and business priorities, pushing the bounds of our technical development capabilities. To develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects. To partner with BU management teams in order to uncover and translate customer and technical insights. To provide high level planning for development projects, including management of related budget. To manage the reporting and the target setting related to Product Development KPIs and key projects. To lead relationships and projects in cooperation with external institutions, including universities, government research departments and private research institutes and associations. To propose and manage external project funding opportunities. To manage regulatory aspects linked to Product Development, including patents, in collaboration with IP function. To support Filtration BU and plants in product development activities, technology transfer, qualification trials for products or raw materials and changes of process as well as for troubleshooting activities. To manage the development of team, constantly assessing capabilities, managing performance and attracting the best talents. Required experience and competences M.S. or Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent. At least 10 years of managerial experience in project management, product development, R&D coordination, with strong focus on team leadership, within a challenging industrial environment. Result and customer-oriented mindset. Excellent organizational skills. Strong leadership and change management skills. Excellent communication and networking skills, both internally and externally.
