Summary Job Description Reporting into the Global Architecture Director, The Global Architecture R&D Manager will lead research and development initiatives, overseeing innovative architectural projects from concept to completion.
Working at the intersection of design and technology, this role will manage the exploration of new materials, building techniques, and sustainable solutions while ensuring that all projects align with the company brand ethos and exacting standards.
How you will contribute? Manage R&D projects focused on advancing architectural innovation within the luxury sector; Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and external consultants to develop cutting-edge architectural solutions; Conduct research on emerging architectural trends, technologies, materials, and construction methods for Store Design Interior/Exteriors applications; Design and Engineer of new fixtures and solutions including.
Fixtures, Lighting, Flooring, Storefronts; Ensure project designs align with the company’s aesthetic vision and standards of luxury; Oversee prototyping, testing, and the development of new materials and techniques for architecture; Assure that research and development is in line with costs and budget communicated by the store planning team, to ensure timely and successful project completion; Collaborate closely with Design Team to develop and define concept guidelines to deliver Brand Concepts Bible; Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance and project approval; Evaluate sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives within the architectural space to integrate green practices into projects; Ensure continuous improvement in design and project delivery processes through R&D insights; Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and project progress to senior leadership.
Collaborate and communicate proactively and effectively with the whole Architecture and Visual Merchandising team and with the global company stake holders.
Who you are? Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Product Design, or related field.
5+ years of experience in architectural project management, with a focus on R&D or innovation in luxury or high-end architecture.
Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects from concept to completion.
Expertise in cutting-edge architectural materials, building techniques, sustainability practices, new technologies.
Proficient in architectural design software (e.
., AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, etc.).
Strong understanding of the luxury sector, with an eye for detail and design excellence.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Fluency in English and Italian is required.
Creative, forward-thinking, and passionate about architectural innovation.
Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-stakes projects.
Strong leadership and collaborative spirit to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
