ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER

We manufacture, market, and distribute a complete line of high-quality, innovative products for new and existing bowling and entertainment centers. As the “Associate Project Manager” of the R&D team, you will be joining the largest and most innovative bowling equipment provider in the world, which is “Making Bowling Amazing.” The successful candidate would be a fearless and passionate project manager, with strong facilitation and communication skills that is able to help drive company priorities. Essential Functions Be partially responsible for technical project management and support of product development and continuation of engineering projects. Aid in continuously evaluating and prioritizing Work Items within the R&D Mechanical Team. Follow up with other departments for more information/action on items. Maintain a Risk Tracking Matrix for Projects. Manage and review task management software for updates from the engineer. Develop and manage timelines for small- to medium-sized projects. Maintain Scope Documents for Projects. Review departmental time charging practices to ensure timely recording of engineering hours. Be aware of established timelines and milestone dates to help schedule meetings to drive development/progress as needed. Other duties assigned by management. Supervisory Responsibilities The position will not have direct reports. Competencies/Qualifications Strong technical aptitude and a keen ability to quickly learn new technology, its challenges, design trade-offs, and risks while staying out of the details. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications and knowledge of document and file management. Ability to move fluidly from the big picture to the details so that complex and strategic cross-functional projects with tight deadlines can be efficiently planned and deployed. Knowledge of methods, processes & tools associated with Project management. Excellent written and verbal communication as well as meeting facilitation skills. Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience. Goal-oriented and pragmatic with excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items. Self-motivated and driven to take the initiative without a request. Ability to be tough and expect accountability to commitments, but able and willing to act with empathy and integrity. Some amount of Technical Background to allow insight into regular challenges the team faces. Work environment Approximately 90% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment, working under normal office conditions. Approximately 10% performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment, which may require some safety equipment like steel toe shoes, ear protection, or safety glasses. Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology Field. Alternately, a Business Degree with experience at an OEM or similar business. Minimum of 3 years experience working in a Technical Field. Project Management experience is a plus.
